SD-WAN Overlay Architecture & Components : Cisco SD-WAN fabric overview: vManage NMS, vSmart controller, vBond orchestrator, and vEdge/cEdge WAN edge roles. Control plane vs data plane separation, fabric bring-up sequence, and trust hierarchy with certificates.
vManage Deep Dive : vManage UI and REST API, device templates, feature templates, configuration groups, centralized policy application, monitoring dashboards, and vManage high-availability with cluster deployments.
Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) : ZTP workflow end-to-end: device authentication with serial numbers/OTP, vBond discovery, automated template push, Day 0 config via bootstrap file, and ZTP troubleshooting for large-scale branch onboarding.
SD-WAN Overlay & Underlay Design : Underlay transport independence (MPLS, internet, 4G/5G), control connections (DTLS/TLS), BFD for data plane liveness detection, NAT traversal for edge devices behind NAT, and multi-region fabric design.

The OMP and policy design coverage is exceptional
I have been working with SD-WAN for two years but the OMP deep dive in this course revealed nuances I had never fully understood. The policy hierarchy — centralized vs localized — is now very clear to me after the detailed labs.

Multi-cloud SD-WAN labs were outstanding
Deploying SD-WAN gateways in AWS and Azure in actual labs, not just whiteboards, was a unique and highly valuable experience. The Cloud OnRamp for SaaS module directly helped me optimize our Microsoft 365 experience for 50 branches.

AAR and QoS sections are very practical
The application-aware routing labs with simulated packet loss and latency were very well designed. I finally understand how BFD probes drive path selection decisions. The QoS shaping configuration for multi-transport scenarios was also excellent.

Security integration is a major differentiator
The Umbrella integration and ZBFW content is usually missing from SD-WAN courses. Having it included here, with actual labs, made this the most complete SD-WAN training I have found. The migration planning module is also very applicable to real projects.
Yes. The module covers both vEdge (Viptela OS) and cEdge (IOS-XE SD-WAN) platforms including Cisco Catalyst 8000V and 8200/8300 series. The curriculum reflects the latest SD-WAN software versions used in the CCIE Enterprise lab exam.
Yes. Students receive dedicated access to a vManage instance with full administrative access. You will configure device templates, build centralized and localized policies, onboard virtual WAN edges, and monitor the SD-WAN fabric — all in a hands-on lab environment.
Yes. The multi-cloud labs use shared cloud environments for SD-WAN Cloud OnRamp IaaS and SaaS integration. Students deploy virtual SD-WAN gateways, configure cloud routing, and test SaaS optimization within the lab subscription.
SD-WAN is a significant domain in the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure v1.x lab exam, typically representing 15–20% of the total exam content. Expert-level policy configuration and troubleshooting skills are tested, making deep preparation in this module essential.
